2018 Mohammad Waseem Teak Surbahar with Dagarbani Headstock
This instrument was made by Wasim Maner of Mohammad Waseem Sitarmakers in Miraj to our specifications in mid-2018. Many of its design elements were drawn from Imrat Khan's father's surbahar, which Imrat Khan can be seen and heard playing in many photographs and recordings. The sustain of this surbahar is virtually endless, owing to the mass added to the neck by the large dagarbani headstock. With the addition of a flat-wound kharaj, its low end is nothing short of thunderous.
